I’m talking/tweeting with an Los Angeles-based friend about watching DA. She said she’d give it a go, and she’s now mentioned that there are all these 1 star anti-gay reviews on Netflix. She’s not put off in the slightest because she realises they’re all a pack of narrow minded jerks, but for chrissake, have any of those reviewers actually watched the show? One kiss and one very interesting sub-plot and they’ve damned the whole thing? Oh, just go piss off and take your stupid anti-gay agenda with you. Idiots….
Kicked off 2012 with a Bates and Anna/Bates fest. Very happy and fulfilling. 2012 can come and get me because I have seen true on-screen love beautifully portrayed, and that’s all that matters.
Gah, I should have known that Bates would be found guilty. I’d blogged about wondering who would be playing his barrister, someone cast from the huge and interesting British character actor stable. I was expecting a big dramatic courtroom flourish of “Not guilty, m’lud” from the jury after a stunning deliberation by his lawyer. The moment we finally saw the wimpy wee guy they chose as his defence I think I pretty much knew Bates was toast. Handsome toast, of course IMO.
Simply put, if someone amazing like Michael Gambon or [ insert your favourite middle-aged Brit actor here ] had been cast, then of course it would be written that Bates would be found innocent.
Curse you, Fellowes! You’d better get him out of that life-sentence!
